Descriptions of Aluminum Alloys

Aluminum Alloy Sheet 1100

1100 aluminum alloy has minimum of 99% purity with Low strength non-heat treatable and excellent corrosion resistance. It is easily to welding, brazing, soldering and has excellent thermal and electrical conductivity.

Applications:

It can be used primarily for general forming operations includes chemical storage, processing equipment, kitchen utensils, and general sheet metal work.

Aluminum Alloy Sheet 2024

2024 Aluminium Alloy is aircraft alloy which has high a yield strength approaching 50,000-psi with its relatively good fatigue resistance, good machinability but only fair corrosion resistance. It is not recommended for brazing or soldering. It has Good workability and Heat treatable characteristics.

Applications:

2024 Aluminium alloy plate products are used in fuselage structurals, wing tension areas and structural areas where stiffness, fatigue performance and good strength are required.

Aluminum Alloy Sheet 5052

5052 Aluminium Alloy is a non-heat treatable alloy that is wieldable. It is hardened by cold work. It has good weldability, formability and corrosion resistance. Including resistance to salt water..

Applications:

It is commonly used in Vehicle panelling, structures exposed to marine atmospheres, Industrial applications, kitchen cabinets, small boats, home freezers, milk crates, aircraft tube, fencing, and appliances.

Aluminum Alloy Plate 5083

With excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, together with high strength, this alloy was designed for welded structures requiring maximum joint strength and efficiency. It has high resistance to both sea water and industrial chemical environments due to mainly aluminium and relatively high magnesium content.

Applications:

It is used in Marine applications, Pressure vessels, Ship building structure in general. Storage tank work, heavy transport, containers, railroad cars, etc where its welded properties can be advantage.

Aluminum Alloy Plate 6061

The most versatile of the heat treatable aluminum alloys is 6061. It offers a wide range of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, weldability and good formability in the annealed and T4 condition. The T6 properties may be obtained by artificial aging. It is welded by many methods.

Applications:

6061 grade is an excellent purpose alloys, having high strength, good corrosion resistance and good weldability. It is used for all structural applications such as aviation, semi-conductor, jigs and fixtures etc. It has mainly of Aluminium, magnesium and silicon alloys.

Aluminum Alloy Sheet 7075

7075 grade aluminium alloy has the highest strength and highly heat-treatable alloys. It has been used primarily in aerospace industry and blow-moulding, precision engineering etc, where good stress-corrosion cracking resistance is required. Non-weldable and Poor corrosion resistance.

Applications:

Aluminium Alloy 7075 sheets and plates being used throughout aircraft and aerospace structures, airframes, where a combination of both, high strength and corrosion resistance are required. It has mainly of Aluminium, Zinc and Magnesium alloys.

Aluminium MIC 6

MIC 6 is cast aluminium plate finished to close tolerance in all dimensions and thermally stabilized.

Applications:

Used in designing components that requires substantial metal removal without distortions.management.
